Celebrating Jewish Life

Our Mission

Congregation NefeshSoul is an inclusive, creative community dedicated to Jewish life and values, providing spiritual and engaging religious experiences.

About Congregation NefeshSoul

Congregation NefeshSoul is a kahal (community) where all are welcomed; where worship is joyous; where the values of social justice prevail; where everyone’s voice is important; and where individualism and community  merge seamlessly in a spirit of kavod (respect), chesed (kindness), and ahavah (affection).

We share a sanctuary in northwest Chandler (near Ray Rd and I-10).  Along with Jewish families, we welcome interfaith families, Jews-by-choice, and the GLBT community. We formed in October 2013.

We invite Jews and their families to re-vision what Jewish community and practice mean. Congregation NefeshSoul does not have fixed membership dues. We rely on the generosity of our members and those who participate in our community.

Congregation NefeshSoul is under the spiritual leadership of Rabbi Susan Schanerman and Cantorial Soloist/Music Director Susan Colin.

Rabbi Susan is a community rabbi. She is available for baby namings and blessingsb’nei mitzvah training and servicesweddings, conversion classes and ceremonies, memorial services and funerals, and other life cycle events. See her bio and sections on lifecycle ceremonies for more information.
